The Power of Focus (Part 2)
The Power of Focus (Part 2)
Of all the brain's superpowers, the ability to focus is one of the most powerful. Concentrating all our attention and energy on one central point produces extraordinary power to change or master any area of our lives. Most individuals have no clue of the incredible power they can generate through focus.
Controlled focus is like a laser beam that can cut through anything. Individuals can create extraordinary results when they focus consistently on one specific area of their life. But when the rays of a laser become dispersed, it loses all its force to cut. When we are unable to focus, we lose all the power and benefits of this superpower.
Multitasking is the antithesis of focus. Multitasking is often the reason individuals cannot master or get breakthroughs in their life. So few people achieve what they truly desire because they never manage their focus.
I guess the million-dollar question is, "How do I control my focus?".
Drum roll, please...You control your focus by asking yourself a question. Incredibly simple but super effective.
Questions control our focus. We automatically focus in the direction of the questions we ask ourselves.
For example, If I ask myself, "What do I want for lunch?" my focus immediately goes to lunch and food. And if I ask myself, "What am I grateful for?" my focus shifts to the things I am thankful to have.
Next time you desire to alter your focus, simply determine what you want your focus to be and ask yourself a question that will take you in that direction. You may need to repeat the question several times to keep your focus where you want it. Or you can ask yourselves a series of questions that will keep your focus on that particular area.
